Arizona Sets A New Record Of Positive COVID-19 Cases

Arizona has set a new record for positive cases of COVID-19. State health officials say more than 25-hundred cases were reported, setting a new single-day high mark. Overall bed usage in the state is 85-percent, with ICU beds at 84-percent. There were also 32 new deaths reported for nearly 13-hundred total. In Coconino County, cases were up 38 from Wednesday’s one, however there were still no deaths reported. At Flagstaff Medical Center there are 202 patients in the hospital, with 13 COVID-positive patients as of Thursday morning. Most patients are there due to elective surgeries, according to hospital officials. Verde Valley Medical Center in Cottonwood has seven COVID-19 patients currently. There are six COVID patients at Yavapai Regional Medical Center in Prescott and one at the VA hospital. Yavapai County has 12 new cases for 409 total with 208 recoveries. The total of negative cases in Yavapai County is 97.4-percent, with 90-percent negative in Coconino County. The news comes a day after Governor Ducey gave cities the choice whether or not to make mask wearing mandatory.
