Arctic Blast Of Cold Weather Impacts Oil Refineries, Sending Gas Prices Soaring

Read More News at >>

Gas prices have jumped across Arizona this week. Triple-A Arizona says the average price of gas in the state is up 12-and-a-half cents a gallon to $2.63 a gallon on average. Officials say the recent arctic blast in the south is to blame for this week’s spike in prices. They say this week’s jump at the pump is a direct result of all major Gulf Coast refineries being impacted by the recent winter weather in the region. The result has caused gas supplies to tighten and prices go up. In Flagstaff, gas is up over seven-cents a gallon this week to $2.62 a gallon. Last year at this time, gas was at $2.71 a gallon. In Prescott, gas is up over nine-cents a gallon from last week to rise to $2.63 a gallon. Last year at this time, gas was $2.89 a gallon in Prescott.
