Suspect That Triggered An AMBER Alert Tuesday Night Is Arrested

A suspect in connection with An AMBER Alert that was issued overnight Tuesday has been arrested. Peoria Police were looking for a ten-month-old boy, believed to have been taken by his non-custodial father, was found safe at around 1 a.m. Wednesday Police and fire officials found little Abel Maes in west Phoenix in good health. Police say around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday a domestic violence was reported in Peoria. Multiple people reported 30-year-old Brittany Martie was holding onto a vehicle as it was driving down the road. Martie had been thrown off of the vehicle and was seriously injured. She was taken to a local hospital where she died from her injuries. Police say 30-year-old Eric Maes reportedly jumped into the driver’s seat of Martie’s car while the ten-month-old was inside. Witnesses say Martie tried to grab onto the car as it sped away. Maes was arrested by Peoria Police Wednesday afternoon after he was found in a ditch in west Phoenix.
