Rehab on the Museum Fire burn area continues in Flagstaff. Flagstaff Fire officials say the spreading of wood chips on highly vulnerable slopes, which is 168 acres total, will begin on Friday. The chips will be spread by helicopter, when conditions warrant. Fire officials say the use of wood chips in the most heavily damaged areas, has shown that it can be highly effective in reducing post-fire runoff and erosion. Once the project begins, it will take about a week to complete. If you are in the area and notice helicopter traffic over the burn area, this will be the reason. During the operation, the area will be closed to public entry.
