ADOT crews will narrow southbound Interstate-17 to one lane this week for four miles, due to a project to install fiber optic cable along the roadway. Southbound lanes will be narrowed from just south of Kachina Village at milepost 332 to milepost 322 from Tuesday through Friday from 6 a.m. until 7 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday and 6 a.m. to noon Friday. Northbound I-17 will be narrowed to one lane just south of Kachina Village for a mile on Monday from 6 a.m. until 7 p.m. The speed limit will be reduced to 55 miles-per-hour this week. The fiber optic project is expected to continue through mid-2022 and will work its way south along I-17 in segments of three-to-five miles per week. IF you are traveling through the area this week, use caution when going through the work zone.
