Crews from the Arizona Department of Transportation are closing Interstate-40 and the Meteor Crater Bridge this week east of Flagstaff. Crews will begin rehabilitation work on the bridge about 30 miles east of Flagstaff. East and westbound I-40 will be closed at Meteor Crater Road from 8 a.m. Monday to 10 p.m. Friday. A detour will be set up to use the on and off ramps at the I-40/Meteor Crater Road interchange exit and re-entry to the highway. Meteor Crater Road will be closed between east and westbound on and off ramps from 6 a.m. Monday to 6 p.m. Friday. Meteor Crater Bridge will be narrowed to one lane of alternating traffic beginning Saturday at 6 p.m. through June of 2021. ADOT tells drivers to slow down and use caution around construction personnel and equipment while restrictions are in place and road work are taking place.
