Route 66 has reopened through downtown Flagstaff. ADOT officials say crews finished work on the bridge over the Rio de Flag ahead of schedule. The heavily-traveled road had been closed since last Thursday and was set to reopen Friday evening. Even though the road has reopened, work isn’t finished on the bridge. Officials say to expect intermittent lane restrictions as work continues through October. The east and westbound lanes will be reduced to one lane in each direction. Drivers should avoid the area and use alternate route if possible. If drivers find it necessary to travel through the work zone, use caution, slow down and watch for construction personnel and equipment.
