ADOT is making pavement improvements to Milton Road and its sidewalks, as well as the Rio De Flag Bridge. Road work will be from Forest Meadows Street to Phoenix Avenue by City Hall for Milton Road improvements. The turn from Milton Road into Historic Route 66 will be reduced to one lane for eastbound travel during the Rio De Flag Bridge reconstruction. Crews are repairing sidewalks and curb ramps for driveways on Milton Road, which is expected to take several weeks, and then will begin resurfacing the road. That will consist of removing old pavement, resurfacing with new asphalt, and restriping the road. Roadwork and sidewalk maintenance on Milton Road will mainly be during nighttime hours to reduce an interference with traffic, however, the Rio De Flag Bridge reconstruction will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. through Friday. Crews are expected to be complete with Milton Road by summer. ADOT reminds drivers to slow down and use caution around crews and equipment.
