A Winter Storm Warning Will Be In Effect For Areas Above 5500 Feet Through Sunday Afternoon

A Winter Storm Warning is in effect until 5 p.m. Sunday above 55-hundred feet in Northern Arizona. During this time Flagstaff could see nine-to-13 inches of snow, while Williams could see eight-to-12 inches of snow and Doney Park four-to-eight inches. Forecasters say after the first storm is through, there will be a small break then another eight-to-12 inches of snow may fall in Flagstaff from storm number two passing through Sunday evening through Tuesday night. Total snowfall amount from the two storms could total up to two feet of snow by Tuesday. Arizona Snowbowl could get three feet of new snow by Tuesday. Heavy mountain snow is expected with an abundance of rain in the lower elevations, which leads to a good chance of river flooding, high winds and possibly many closed roads. If you have travel plans this weekend and into next week, you may want to adjust them so you won’t be caught in what looks to be the strongest winter storm of the season thus far.
