A man was injured when he lost control of the 1966 Chevy Corvette he was driving and crashed into a tree in front of a Prescott Valley home Saturday. Police were dispatched to the home on the 14-hundred block of Magnolia Drive at around 11:15 a.m. Officers learned that a 64-year-old Prescott man left his home on the same street, driving the car at a high rate of speed. The man lost control of the car and drove through several yards in the neighborhood before hitting a tree. The man suffered minor injuries and was treated and released from an area hospital. He admitted to police he was driving too fast, which caused him to lose control of the car. He was cited and released for misdemeanor reckless driving.
