A Prescott Man Is Seriously Injured After A Monday Night Accident

A Prescott man was seriously injured in a collision Monday night. Police were called to Iron Springs Road and Miller Valley Road at around 10:25 p.m. Investigators say a 2008 Nissan pickup, driven by 22-year-old Nicholas Tews of Prescott was attempting to make a left turn from Miller Valley Road onto Iron Springs when he hit a propelled scooter ridden by 19-year-old Logan Springs, who was traveling across Iron Springs Road. Springs sustained serious, but non-life threatening injuries and was airlifted to a Phoenix area hospital. He is listed in stable condition. Tews was given a field sobriety test and showed signs of recent drug use. During a search of the truck, officers found marijuana, drug paraphernalia and a hand gun inside. Tews was charged with DUI, drug possession and misconduct involving a weapon. Anyone who witnessed the accident is asked to call Prescott Police at (928) 777-1988.
