A Man Wanted For Fleeing An Accident Involving Teens In Paulden Has Been Arrested

A man wanted for fleeing an accident where kids were involved, has been arrested. Yavapai County Sheriff’s deputies were called to a truck rollover in the 24-thousand-800 block of North Mitchell Lane in Paulden last Tuesday. When deputies arrived a 16-year-old girl alerted them that her friend was injured. They went to a Good Samaritan’s vehicle where another 16-year-old was bleeding and possibly having a seizure. While EMS tended to the girl, deputies found out 23-year-old Grant Prevatt from Chino Valley was the one driving the truck. The two girls, along with another teenage girl, said they got into the truck. Prevatt drove erratically and slid sideways and rolled. Prevatt told the girls he was a felon and needed to run away. Tuesday morning, deputies went to a home in the 72-hundred block of Pueblo Avenue in Prescott Valley. After a search of the house, which included the help of a K9 and the use of gas, Prevatt came out of the home and he was arrested. Also arrested at the home was 20-year-old Juliann Strickland, who didn’t come out of the home when police gave the order for anyone inside to exit. Prevatt has been booked on the parole violation warrant and is awaiting several felony charges from the accident. He has been released pending a court date.
