A man was seriously hurt after he crashed his paraglider Monday afternoon in Yarnell. Yavapai County Sheriff’s officials received a 911 call saying a man needed medical attention after crashing his paraglider on Antelope Peak. YCSO Back Country Search and Rescue located the man down the south side of the mountain, where he claimed to be in severe pain and could not feel anything from the waist down. DPS Air Rescue Rangers assisted with the rescue lift off the mountain face, which took over an hour due to mountainous terrain and power lines. After landing, the man was transported by Life Line Ambulance to a Yarnell Fire Station, where he was then flown by Native Air to Phoenix-area hospital. The man’s injuries are unknown and no further information is available.
