A motorcycle-pedestrian accident Friday in Cottonwood sent a Flagstaff man to the hospital. Cottonwood Police and Fire responded to the accident in the 13-hundred block of East State Route 89A at around 5:45 p.m. Police say two motorcyclists were travelling westbound on 89A behind some vehicles. One of the motorcycles, driven by a 25-year-old Cottonwood man, accelerated and passed two vehicles by riding in between the two. The motorcyclist then struck a 63-year-old Flagstaff man while the motorcycle was passing the vehicles. The man wasn’t crossing in a crosswalk at the time he was struck and the second motorcyclist wasn’t involved in the accident. The pedestrian was flown to Flagstaff Medical Center where he is listed in stable condition. The accident is under investigation.
