A Flagstaff High School teacher has resigned in connection with inappropriate behavior during an online class session earlier this year. FUSD officials say a student recorded longtime English teacher Walter Halaberda allegedly conducting public sexual indecency during the session. When FUSD was made aware of the incident and investigated it, Halaberda was placed on administrative leave back on May 6th. He was kept from online and in person interactions with students, but has since stepped down as a teacher at Flag High. The matter has been turned over to the Arizona Department of Education and Flagstaff Police. Investigators are still looking into the case and so far no charges have been filed.
