A Cottonwood man wanted for child sex crimes in Yavapai County is arrested in Iowa. Yavapai County Sheriff’s officials say 26-year-old Austin Fiser was charged with two counts of child molestation in 2018 and indecent exposure, voyeurism and assault in 2019. In October 2018, Fiser engaged in sexual activity with an eleven-year-old female and another nine-year-old female in Rimrock. In March of 2019, Fiser followed a female as she went to a secluded area to use the restroom on Boynton Canyon Trail in Sedona. He proceeded to expose himself and attempted to assault her. The victim, who was known to Fiser, was able to get away. The victim’s boyfriend later confronted Fiser, who was armed and threatened the couple. Fiser went missing and became a subject in Yavapai Silent Witness’s “Catch 22” program. He was arrested in Coconino County in January of 2020. After his arrest, Fiser fled and failed to appear in court this past January. Yavapai County Sheriff’s officials were able to gather information that suggested Fiser was in Pella, Iowa. Police there went to a residence and found Fiser and placed him under arrest. He is now awaiting extradition back to Yavapai County.
