A Colorado man was killed during a non-commercial river trip on the Colorado River in the Grand Canyon Monday. National Park Service officials say 63-year-old James Crocker of Lakewood, Colorado entered the river at the top of Hance Rapid at river mile 77. Members of the rafting group he was in, pulled Crocker out of the river and was unresponsive. They began CPR on Crocker. Park Rangers were flown to the area to help revive the man, but were unsuccessful. Crocker was on a six-day private boating trip when the incident happened. The National Park Service and the Coconino County Medical Examiner’s Office are investigating.
