A Collision Caused A Vehicle Fire Wednesday Near Prescott

A collision, involving an alleged drunk driver, led to a vehicle fire Wednesday night near Prescott. Yavapai County Sheriff’s deputies were called to the area of Campwood Road and Williamson Valley Road at around 7:15 p.m. When they arrived, deputies found a vehicle on fire, with some spot fires nearby. Witnesses told deputies they found the vehicle, on fire, with the driver still inside and a portion of her pants on fire. Bystanders pulled the 63-year-old woman out of the vehicle and away from the scene to made sure she was okay. She spoke to a deputy and admitted to having “a lot to drink earlier” and couldn’t remember what happened. She was taken to Yavapai Regional Medical Center for treatment. Deputies say the vehicle’s went off the road and hit a concrete barrier near a cattle guard. The Sheriff’s Office intends to charge the driver with DUI pending blood test results and after the investigation is completed.
