A Chino Valley Man Was Arrested Sunday With Ties To A Cold Case In California

A Chino Valley man has been arrested in connection to a serial rapist cold case in Riverside, California dating back to 1996. Riverside authorities say 50-year-old Darin Crooke has been charged in Riverside County with 16 felony counts including forcible rape of five separate victims dating back almost 25 years. The crimes occurred in Riverside between 1996 and 1998 and also in Corona, California in 2007. There were six victims total. Cooke was extradited back to California last Sunday. He had been living in Chino Valley for several years. The Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the arrest. There are no indications that Cooke committed any crimes in Yavapai County before he was arrested.
