Officials had to pull a car out of Lake Mary Monday afternoon after it had rolled into the lake at one of the boat ramps early that morning. Coconino County Sherrif’s deputies were called to the lake at around 4:13 a.m. after receiving a call from a resident saying their 18-year-old daughter had lost her car into the lake. Deputies arrived and confirmed the girl’s Nissan Rogue was in the lake, completely submerged. Luckily no one was inside. The search was difficult as the girl couldn’t remember which of the three launch ramps the incident occurred at. At around 5:20 p.m. divers found the car, but it still wasn’t visible due to poor water visibility. The Gila County Sheriff’s Dive Team found the car, hooked a cable to it and a tow truck pulled the car out of the lake. Investigators say alcohol is believed to be a possible factor in the incident. The event remains under investigation.
