A juvenile, who was shot near a Camp Verde cemetery last Wednesday has died, and an arrest has been made in connection with the death. Camp Verde Marshal’s say the juvenile was shot when he and three others were shooting toward a water tower near a cemetery on West Middle Verde Road late Wednesday night. When marshal’s arrived they found the boy with life-threatening injuries caused by a single gunshot wound to the upper portion of his body. The boy died from his injuries the next day. Investigators found that one of the four involved in the incident had taken two rifles and ammunition from their parent’s home without permission. They drove to the cemetery at around 11 p.m. At that time, two of the four started recklessly firing their rifles into the darkness, toward a water tank near the cemetery. As one of the juveniles fired the rifle, the bullet from the gun struck the victim. Thursday afternoon marshal’s arrested the female juvenile who fired the gun. Criminal charges are being reviewed by the Yavapai County Attorney’s Office.
