A Border Patrol agent from Texas was one of three people killed in a multi-vehicle accident Sunday afternoon near Tuba City. DPS says the accident happened at around 3:13 p.m. on southbound Highway 89, at milepost 492. A pickup truck was heading northbound, for when an unknown reason, went off right onto the shoulder. He then overcorrected to the left, back onto the highway and into southbound traffic. The truck then hit another vehicle heading southbound. Three of the five people in the vehicle were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the other vehicle was 28-year-old Eduardo Guadaulpe Hurtado, who worked as a Border Patrol agent. Also killed was Eduardo’s sister, 32-year-old Jasmine Alexis Hurtado and their mother, Michelle Camacho Morales. Eduardo’s wife Stephanie and two-year-old son survived the accident. The driver was placed under arrest by the FBI following a DUI investigation for manslaughter. The incident remains under investigation.  Two separate GoFundMe accounts have been set up to help the family.
