A Cottonwood Man Previously Arrested For Indecent Exposure, Arrested Again

A Cottonwood man, previously arrested and charged with indecent exposure, is arrested again. Yavapai County Sheriff’s detective went to a Cottonwood address back on June 17th after receiving a tip involving the suspect and child exploitation. Detectives served a search warrant at the home and found a video chat between 30-year-old Cody Shanks and another user that included indecent pictures of himself, as well as two indecent pictures of underage girls. Shanks just had his $75-thousand dollar bond from his last arrest reduced to $10-thousand dollars in March and was released from jail. Shanks was not home at the time and refused to talk to detectives over the phone. He was found a short time later following a traffic stop near the home and was taken into custody. He was initially arrested back in January after he exposed himself to children as they got off the school bus in Cottonwood. Shanks has been booked into the Camp Verde Detention Center on charges in connection with child pornography.
