A 49-year-old man was arrested Wednesday after a fight in Prescott. Police responded to the incident at around 11:30 a.m. in the 500 block of Miller Valley Road. Several homeless individuals were involved in a fight. A victim called 911 to say she had been cut by a knife during the melee. When they arrived, officers saw a man run away from the scene. Police detained 49-year-old Andrew Palmer, who is a Prescott area transient. Officers interviewed several witnesses at the scene, who told them Palmer was the involved in the stabbing. The victim was taken to Yavapai Regional Medical Center for a serious cut that required surgery. During the investigation, Palmer was found to be a registered Level 2 sex offender, showing his last known address in Chino Valley. However, he was living as a transient in Prescott since 2019.
