A suspect in Chino Valley has been arrested in connection with multiple burglaries there. Police say back on April 20th, a victim reported someone had switched the wheels and tires on his truck with a set from a different vehicle. The victim’s tires were distinct and noticeable. Police received a tip that 19-year-old Lane Evans was the person who may have stolen the wheels and tires. Officers located Evans’ vehicle on Harrison Drive in Chino Valley with the victim’s tires and wheels on Lane’s truck and eight other wheels and tires in the truck’s bed. Lane was found nearby. He admitted to stealing the wheels and tires, as well as admitted to three commercial yard thefts and two residential yard thefts that date back to mid-2019. Evans told police about three other people who helped him. There was another 19-year-old, who is still at-large, and two 17-year-olds. One of the 17-year-olds was taken into custody Tuesday. Evans was booked into the Yavapai County Jail on five counts of theft and burglary in connection with the case.
