The Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office is warning the public of a fraudulent website masquerading as the Prescott Frontier Days, and others, selling rodeo tickets for the upcoming “World’s Oldest Rodeo” season. YCSO responded to a report from a local resident last week after they fell victim to the scam. The fraudulent website ticketsales.com/prescottfrntier re-routed the ticket purchase to ticket-center.com and charged the person $466 for two rodeo tickets. The victim submitted a claim to her bank to dispute the charges and to make them aware of the scam. The Better Business Bureau is also screening the site due to recent patterns of similar consumer complaints. The Prescott Frontier Days website, worldsoldestrodeo.com is the only authorized site to purchase rodeo tickets for the event. All attempts to buy tickets elsewhere could result in fraudulent activity or schemes. YCSO reminds residents to be aware of fraudulent websites and urges people to only buy their rodeo tickets from the Prescott Frontier Days website.
