Yavapai County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue teams, along with Jeep Posse volunteers, were busy over the weekend. A woman called Saturday morning to report that her husband and two sons had left home Friday morning, headed to Bumblebee in their Jeep. He texted his wife at around 9 p.m. saying he was stuck “near a cabin” in the Crown King area. After pinging his cellphone she went to Wagoner Road, east of Highway 89 where she too got stuck. Searchers found the woman, along with her son and two of his friends, stranded on Senator Highway north of Mayer, about a mile from her husband. All were rescued and are safe with no injuries. On Sunday, Search and Rescue teams had to recover a dead body from off the Cross-Y Ranch. The body was found under a large four-legged power pole. There’s no suspicion of foul play currently. The death is under investigation.
