Members of the Yavapai County Search and Rescue team were successful in tracking down a missing man near Ash Fork recently. Sheriff’s deputies were called to the Juniper Woods community south of Ash Fork back on December 27th at around 9:15 a.m. regarding a missing 57-year-old man. His roommate reported him missing since the previous afternoon. The man walked away from a trailer and hadn’t been heard from. Rescue teams arrived on scene and started searching for the man. As the day was nearing sunset, rescuers found the man inside an abandoned camper shell in an old hunting camp. He spent the previous night huddled next to a small campfire he managed to build and was without food and water. The man was taken to a hospital for treatment of apparent hypothermia. He told deputies he was trying to get back to his trailer, but went the wrong way and got lost.
