The Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office is mourning the loss of one of their own. Sergeant Thomas Tieman passed away from a heart attack Friday evening at his home. Deputies quickly responded to his home. He was stabilized and taken to Yavapai Regional Medical Center where he later passed away. Sergeant Tieman served in law enforcement for over 25 years and began his career in 1994 with the Arizona Department of Corrections. He was a police officer in Eagar for three years and then in Springerville for six. Sergeant Tieman was with YCSO for the past 15 years. Sheriff David Rhodes says Tieman “led with integrity, loyalty and courage. He will be remembered for his selfless service to our community and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.” He leaves behind his wife, four grown children and his mother and father.
