YCSO Has Had A Busy Year Thus Far With Drug Seizures, With Thousands Of Fentanyl Pills Confiscated

Drug seizures in Yavapai County have been abundant and have yielded some serious results so far this year. Yavapai County Sheriff’s officials in cooperation with PANT, Partners Against Narcotics Trafficking, and area law enforcement, they have investigated 116 overdose cases, 39 of which were fatal. Just Monday, a K9 unit stopped a vehicle with Texas license plates. Deputies seized five pounds of meth, 120-thousand Fentanyl pills and two pounds of cocaine. This year to date, YCSO has seized nearly 16 pounds of cocaine, 118 pounds of meth, 510 pounds of black market marijuana and 180 black-market marijuana plants and nearly 220 pounds, or over 878-thousand Fentanyl pills. Officials say Fentanyl, the aptly named “one-pill kill” drug, has overtaken many other drugs as the number one source of overdose cases. With Halloween approaching, YCSO is warning parents and kids to watch out for these pills that look like candy.
