Yavapai County Sheriff’s deputies, along with two officers from the Buckeye Police Department help avert a crisis on Dugas Road near Interstate-17 Sunday. Buckeye Police notified deputies to look for a woman amid a mental health crisis, with two children ages nine and ten in the car. Deputies were able to locate the car on Dugas Road. They were able to help the woman out of the car and opened the trunk and found the two kids inside, safe and sound. The kids were separated and put into different patrol vehicles to get warm and be interviewed. The woman displayed serious signs of a mental health crisis. Resources were called to the scene, along with Department of Child Services to take custody of the kids. The case remains under investigation and the woman still may face charges.
