Yavapai County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a man Tuesday in Seligman, who is wanted for murder in New Mexico. Deputies received information from Esponola Police that 39-year-old Fabian Archuleta was in the Seligman area. When deputies arrived and made contact with the man, he initially refused to cooperate and barricade himself inside a vehicle he was sitting in. Deputies were eventually able to talk him out of the vehicle and take him into custody. He is in the Yavapai County Jail awaiting extradition back to New Mexico. Archuleta was wanted in connection with a fatal shooting of a man Saturday. Archuleta has a long criminal history, with convictions of aggravated battery, false imprisonment and possession of a controlled substance.
