Yavapai County Sheriff’s deputies have arrested an 18-year-old Chino Valley teenager, who is a suspect in several auto theft incidents in the area. Chino Valley officers were notified by a resident they saw David (DJ) Knight and the truck that police were looking for, on Monday afternoon at around 2:48 p.m. Police found Knight and a pursuit began. Knight began driving recklessly, so officers backed off. A short time later, a sheriff’s deputy saw Knight at Reed Road and Outer Loop Road driving fast. The deputy picked up pursuit of Knight. Another deputy deployed stop sticks on Williamson Valley Road. Knight ran over them and his vehicle stopped in a ditch. He was taken into custody without further incident. Knight was booked into the Yavapai County Jail on two counts of burglary, two counts of auto theft and one count of unlawful flight from law enforcement. Additional charges are pending.
