YCSO Advising The Public Of Gift Card Scamming

The Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office is advising the public of gift card scamming in Yavapai County. Scammers often use gift cards to steal money from people by asking them to pay a fake fine or probation bill with gift cards. Scammers have been targeting Yavapai County residents, sometimes using compromised email accounts requesting gift card purchases for friends, family, or co-workers. YCSO is reminding the public they will never as anyone to make a payment with a gift card. If you or someone you know is being scammed, contact your local law enforcement immediately.
