Yavapai Silent Witness Offering Ten-Thousand Dollars For Information Relating To 35-Year-Old Cold Case

The Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office continues to look for clues into the death of a woman in the Prescott area, 35 years ago Saturday. The then 23-year-old Cathy Sposito was murdered while hiking on the Thumb Butte Trail west of Prescott on June 13th, 1987. At around 7 a.m. that morning, she rode her mountain bike to the trailhead and began hiking up the path. A short time later, she was murdered by one or more people. Other hikers heard her scream for help, but it was too late. Anyone providing information that leads to an arrest in this case could be eligible for a $10-thousand dollar reward. If anyone has information about her death, contact Yavapai Silent Witness at 1-800-932-3232 or submit a tip at yavapaisw.com.
