Yavapai Silent Witness is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of a suspect in connection with the death of a woman in the Prescott area, nearly 34 years ago. The then 23-year-old Cathy Sposito was murdered while hiking on the Thumb Butte Trail west of Prescott on June 13th, 1987. At around 7 a.m. that morning, she rode her mountain bike to the trailhead and began hiking up the path. A short time later, she was murdered by one or more people. Other hikers heard her scream for help, but it was too late. If anyone has information about her death, contact Yavapai Silent Witness at 1-800-932-3232 or submit a tip at yavapaisw.com.
