Day 22 of Yavapai Silent Witness’ “Catch 22” program has been arrested. Back on November 18th, 2018, 43-year-old Olivia Begay was stopped by a Yavapai Apache Nation Police officer on Highway 260. The officer pulled her over after watching her drive erratically, going off the road several times. Upon contacting Begay, the officer observed she was very confused, was having trouble keeping her eyes open, and appeared to be impaired by alcohol. The officer also noticed there was a small child in the back seat. A preliminary breath test showed Begay had a blood alcohol concentration of .307, which is nearly four-times the legal limit. She was arrested and the six-year-old child was turned over to family members. Then earlier this month, U.S. Marshals were tipped off Begay could be in Farmington, New Mexico. They located her and took her into custody without incident. She is now in the San Juan County Jail awaiting extradition back to Yavapai County.
