A wrong-way vehicle caused a deadly accident and then left the scene early Monday morning south of Flagstaff on Interstate-17. DPS officials say the accident happened at around 12:30 a.m. near Sunset Point. Officials say the wrong-way vehicle was reported in the northbound lanes driving south near milepost 256. A second vehicle tried to miss and hit an embankment in the median, then a third vehicle hit that vehicle. DPS says the driver of the second vehicle, 64-year-old Thomas Langgood of Mesa, was pronounced dead at the scene. Two others were taken to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries. A commercial vehicle was hit by debris and a fifth vehicle hit the guardrail and drove on. The wrong-way vehicle has not been found. The person was driving a black Mustang. If anyone has information on the accident, or the suspect vehicle, call 911. I-17 has reopened.
