Woman Falls To Her Death At “The Bluffs” In The Clear Creek Area Monday

A woman fell to her death in the Clear Creek area Monday near Camp Verde. Yavapai County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the scene after a woman called 9-1-1 to say her friend fell about 20-feet off a cliff in an area known as “The Bluffs,” and was no longer visible. Search and Rescue members were called to the scene at around 4 p.m. Deputies used binoculars to find the woman, who was identified as 44-year-old Jennifer Petri, who was at the base of a cliff just above the edge of the water. A DPS helicopter was able to drop a trooper to Petri’s body and determined she had passed away. Petri’s body was airlifted out of the canyon. The death remains under investigation.
