A Winter Storm Warning will be in affect at nine tonight through 11 p.m. tomorrow as a major winter storm bears down on Northern Arizona. The watch area includes the Greater Flagstaff Area, Prescott, Sedona, Williams, parts of the Navajo Nation and the Grand Canyon. Forecasters say expect heavy snow and very strong winds with near white out conditions. Snowfall estimates during the watch time includes, nine-to-13 inches of snow in Flagstaff, seven-to-11 inches of snow in Williams, five-to-nine inches in Doney Park, three-to-five inches of snow in Prescott and one-to-three inches in Prescott Valley. The biggest factor with this storm is wind. Forecasters are expecting winds to be 35-to-45 miles an hour, with wind gusts reaching 80 miles-an-hour in some area. These winds are similar to a Tropical Storm. If you have travel plans during this time, now is the time to either delay travel, or prepare and put together an emergency kit with plenty of food and blankets available. Snow is in the forecast through the rest of the week.
