There is more information about a man who was struck and killed Tuesday morning west of Winslow. DPS says at around 7:38 at milepost 243 near the Meteor Crater Exit, the driver of a semi-truck called 911 to indicate he had hit something in the road. The investigating state trooper says the man was standing in the middle of I-40, when he was hit by several vehicles. Troopers found a sleeping bag and other personal belongings about 100 yards from the body. Using fingerprint technology, the man has been identified as 39-year-old Adam Michael Tackett of Farmington, New Mexico. DPS says it’s unclear why he was in the highway at the time of the accident.
