There is more information about a man who was struck and killed Tuesday morning west of Winslow. DPS says at around 7:38 at milepost 243 near the Meteor Crater Exit, the driver of a semi-truck called 911 to indicate he had hit something in the road. The investigating state trooper says the man was standing in the middle of I-40, when he was hit by several vehicles. Troopers found a sleeping bag and other personal belongings about 100 yards from the body. Using fingerprint technology, the man has been identified as 39-year-old Adam Michael Tackett of Farmington, New Mexico. DPS says it’s unclear why he was in the highway at the time of the accident. No vehicles that hit Tackett remained on the scene.
