Video From September Reveals Apache County Sheriff’s Deputy Fatally Shooting Abandoned Dogs

Body camera footage from the Apache County Police Department at an abandoned property in Adamana, east of Holbrook, shows a Sheriff’s Deputy shooting and killing several dogs. The graphic body camera footage is from September 22, 2023, but the Mountain Daily Star recently acquired the video and released it to the public. Apache County Police Department’s statement to FOX 10 said: “The Deputy involved acted in a professional and most humane manner given the circumstances. He exhausted all other alternatives available to him at the time and acted under the approval of his immediate supervisor.” Apache County does not have an animal control department and out of the seven dogs on the property, only two were left alive and were rescued about a month later. KAFF News has chosen not to circulate the video, however, if you do come across it be warned it is graphic and may be disturbing to some viewers.
