Yavapai County Sheriff’s officials say case into vandalism at the Seventh Day Adventist Church Sanctuary in Dewey is now closed. The Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office says damage at the church took place between noon on April 17th and 9:30 a.m. on April 24th at the church located at 11850 Henderson Drive. Officials say deputies saw several tire tracks on the exterior side of the building. The tracks appeared to be an aggressive, knobby-type tire, typically found on dirt bikes or similar off-road vehicles. Inside the building, damage from the impact with the exterior wall was visible and substantial. Sheriff’s officials say a person came forward to admit they were involved in causing the damage and explained it was accidental and not intentional. Sheriff’s officials closed the case after the admittance. Damage is estimated to be in the several thousands of dollars.
