Two People Were Seriously Injured After A Gun Fight In Ash Fork Thursday Morning

Two people were seriously injured after a shooting in Ash Fork Thursday morning. Yavapai County Sheriff’s deputies, along with deputies from Coconino County and state troopers from DPS, responded to the scene of Cooks Trail around midnight after a 9-1-1 call stating two people had been shot and the suspect threatened to not put the gun down when law enforcement showed up. Over 15 officers arrived on the scene, and the YCSO SWAT team was called in for help. Before SWAT arrived, deputies assisted the two victims, appearing to have life-threatening gunshot wounds. One victim had multiple leg wounds and the other had head wounds. Both victims were taken to EMS in a YCSO deputy vehicle, where they were then flown to local hospitals. One man, who was uninjured, surrendered without incident. During the investigation of the scene, deputies found multiple weapons, shell casings and a blood trail leading to a nearby home. No additional victims were found. YCSO is currently investigating the incident and interviewing multiple suspects.
