Two people killed as a result of a head-on collision on Lake Mary Road south of Flagstaff last week have been identified. Coconino County Sheriff’s officials say the incident happened when a black Nissan Maxima driving northbound on Lake Mary Road, driven by 30-year-oid Daniel Lomayestewa from Second Mesa, crossed over the centerline and hit a silver Toyota Corolla that was driving southbound, driven by 54-year-old Sherra Lyon from Mormon Lake, head-on. Both were pronounced dead on the scene. Investigators say Lomayestewa was driving on a suspended license and there were indications of possible alcohol impairment. Deputies received information before the crash from a passerby who reported seeing the Maxima driving recklessly. The incident remains under investigation. If anyone has information, contact the Coconino County Sheriff’s Office at (928) 774-4523.
