Two people have been arrested in Cottonwood on multiple drug charges along with child abuse. Yavapai County Sheriff’s officials say detectives from Partner’s Against Narcotics Trafficking task force, or PANT, arrested 39-year-old Jairo Chavez-Rodriguez back on December 19th after it was discovered he was selling meth and heroin. A search of his home found more than a pound of heroin and over a half-pound of meth in the master bedroom. Also in the home was 40-year-old Johanora Gonzalez and three young kids, two were six years old and the other is nine. A further search found scales, two firearms and cash. Detectives also found that heroin was found throughout the house on the floor, accessible to the kids. The two were booked on a slew of charges related to the incident. The children have been placed in care of the Department of Child Safety.
