The Tri-City Task Force, made of officers from the Prescott Police Department, Prescott Valley Police Department, and Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office conducted a speed enforcement detail on Pioneer Parkway and Williamson Valley Road Tuesday. The Task Force focused on this area for four hours due to the numerous complaints of dangerous and reckless driving in the area. The Task Force stopped a total of 42 drivers, resulting in 35 citations, 29 of those being for speed or lack of seatbelts. The highest clocked speed was 72 miles-per-hour in a 50-mile-per-hour zone. In the construction zone on Pioneer Parkway, the speed limit has been reduced to 25-miles-per-hour. The highest speed clocked during the detail was 54-miles-per-hour while construction crews were present. YCSO, PVPD, and PPD would like to thank their residents for slowing down and keeping the roads safe.
