Town Of Prescott Valley Delays Two Road Projects Until The Spring Due To Rising Construction Costs And More

The Town of Prescott Valley has delayed two major road projects until Spring of 2023 because of construction costs, labor shortages and supply chain issues. The Glassford Hill Road resurfacing project, which will improve the road surface from Highway 69 to Panther Path, and the Viewpoint Drive improvement project, which will improve Viewpoint between Long Hook and Manley, will begin this Spring and are scheduled to be completed by Fall 2023. Town officials say the delay will allow time for construction costs to decline and the town will be able to better manage resources by constructing the projects over two budget years. Current construction cost conditions have costs exceeding the existing budget for both projects. The town will continue to patch Glassford Hill Road as needed until construction can take place.
