The NAU women’s basketball team began its run in the Big Sky Women’s Basketball Tournament Sunday with a win over ninth-seeded Northern Colorado, 64-48, in Boise, Idaho. The Jacks got out to a 16-4 start to the game, but then hit a wall late in the second quarter to lead 25-17 at halftime. The Jacks then used a strong fourth quarter to close out the Bears. Regan Schenck and Niyah Moran each scored 15 points to lead the Jacks, with Schenck adding seven assists. Olivia Moran chipped in with an 11 points in the win. The win gives NAU 20 wins on the season and advance to Tuesday’s Big Sky semifinals against either fourth-seeded Eastern Washington or fifth-seeded Montana, who play Monday. Tip time for Tuesday’s game will be at noon.
