Three people were injured when the All-Terrain Vehicle they were on, crashed east of Munds Park Saturday. A Coconino County Sheriff’s deputy was called to an area of Forest Service Road 240 at around 1:35 p.m. The deputy arrived and immediately started to help medical personnel who were already on scene. An adult male sustained severe head trauma, and adult female sustained hip and back injuries and a four-year-old boy was treated for an eye and lower body injuries. All three were transported to Flagstaff Medical Center, all are listed in stable condition. Investigators say a grandfather was operating the ATV, with the grandmother and their four-year-old grandson also on board. The grandfather lost control of the ATV, causing it to roll, which ejected the three victims. None of the riders were wearing protective gear. The accident remains under investigation.
